Times Square bomb – Police Find Car Bomb and Man Arrested

In the heart on Saturday evening, in a smoking Nissan Pathfinder a crude car bomb of propane, fireworks, and gasoline was discovered, thousands of tourists and theatergoers are being evacuated on a warm and busy night.

There was no explosion, and a suspect and motive were still sought by the authorities on Sunday, although the device had apparently started to donate.

According to Mayor Michael R. Bloobmerg, they are lucky because they avoided what could have been a very deadly event.

From Sixth to Eight Avenues, from 43rd Street to 48th street, a large swath of Midtown was closed for much of the evening after the pathfinder was discovered just off Broadway on 45th street. The South Tower of the New York Marriot Marquis Hotel, as well as several theaters and stores were evacuated.

The investigation that has been launched, said press conference at the early morning by Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly. In Washington, from the annual White House correspondent’s dinner, police commissioner and the mayor had returned early.

Police officers troubled by the running engine and hazard lights, from firefighters and the emergency service units flooded the area, by the fact that in the street the SUV was oddly angled. From within the vehicle, reported by a firefighter from ladder 4 heard several “pops”. On The Pathfinder also was learned that had wrong license plates by the police.

Man arrested in Times Square Bomb

A man that found as a naturalized US citizen from Pakistan – from Connecticut has been arrested by federal agents and police detectives. Into Times Square on Saturday evening, he was driving a car bomb shortly before midnight Monday in what turned out to be an unsuccessful attack.

Faisal Shahzad, the name of that man, 30, on board an Emirates flight to Dubai was taken into custody at Kennedy Airport, according to an early morning statement Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr and the airline delivered at the Justice Department in Washington.

From the plane, there are 2 passengers that were removed; whether they were connected with Times Square Bomb it was still unclear.
