There are other implications to extending unemployment benefits beyond the staggering cost by the government. According to the survey conducted by the Labor Department about the current rate of unemployment dropping to 9.7% has indeed stirred up mixed reactions. With that recent news, people whether happy or not still have to deal with the issue no matter what.
Unemployment benefits actually prolong the high unemployment rate, as like research strongly suggests. Democrats and republicans have support this kind of governmental compassion. Many folks that have lost their jobs are collecting unemployment benefits; they are not working too hard to get new jobs. It is said that “don’t give a man a fish, you should teach them to fish”. Don’t they realize that is many of the states that are providing these unemployment benefits are going to go broke? Due to economic pressures their tax revenue has also been curtailed at the bottom of the business cycle.
Unemployment benefits cause people to be lazy; this will set up an extremely bad precedence. In the future, we will be sorry that we allowed this to occur. It is about the worst thing we can do; extending unemployment benefits are making a huge mistake.
Become more resourceful, stay positive as always, and focus our strengths on the things we can do something, about so we can overcome each day that passes without much worry. We just have to take a look at it with a different perspective. As Americans continue to stare ten percent unemployment in the face for yet another month, there are just not enough jobs to go around.
Unemployment benefits are by no means a cushy deal, maybe the extra time will help some people to find a more satisfying job or reassess careers. Compensating most people by about half of their previous income, but not compensate for the overall cost to the country.
